DR ANN CULLUMBINE

Qualified: Birmingham University 1992 MB Bch – 1992 DRCOG – 1995 MRCGP – 1996

Born: 1969 Dr Cullumbine qualified at Birmingham University in 1992 and joined Claughton Medical Centre in 1998. She is married with two children. Her special interests are Womens health & contraception and Respiratory medicine. Dr Cullumbines hobbies include cycling, walking and family life.

DR LAXMAN ARIARAJ

Qualified: Sheffield Medical School MB ChB – 1998 MRCOG – 2004

Born: 1975 Dr Ariaraj qualified at Sheffield Medical School in 1998 and joined Claughton Medical Centre in 2004. His special interests include Paediatrics and Gastroenterology. Dr Ariaraj is married with a daughter and enjoys world travel and sports.

DR FIONA COX

Qualified from Liverpool University in 2000 with MbChB commendation. MrCGP in 2003.

Born 1977 Joined Claughton Medical Centre in 2013, She is responsible for Medical Students and is also the Diabetes and Prescribing lead for the Practice. She is a busy mother of two boys, in her spare time she enjoys running & playing Tennis.

DR MARK FRASER

Qualified from Liverpool University MBChB - 1990, MRCGP - 2008, DSEM - 2014, LLM - 2015

Born 1967 Dr Fraser qualified from liverpool University in 1990. Having completed a basic surgical training program, in 1995 he went to sea working for P&O and Princess Cruises until 2004. Having settled back in the Wirral he qualified as a GP in 2008 and has worked on the wirral since. He joined Claughton Medical Centre in 2013 before taking a year out to complete a masters in Medical Law and Ethics at Liverpool University and returned in 2015. He is the Lead GP in Adult Safeguarding for the Wirral CCG and also acts as an Appraiser and Clinical Investigator for NHS England. Dr Frasers clinical intrests are Minor Surgery and Musculoskeletal Medicine (bones & Joints). He is Married with three children, 2 girls and boy and enjoys sport of all kinds.

Born in 1988- Dr Nicki Arthur is Wirral native; she has interests in Women's Health and in her spare time enjoys skiing and walking her dog.

Qualified Manchester university 2010. MRCGP 2017 Joined Paxton medical group in 2016. He is married with three children and two dogs. Special interest are research, anticoagulation, vaccinations and paediatrics. Dr Lants hobbies includes walking the dogs, football and family life.

DR ANDREW CONNERY

Dr Connery qualified from the University of Leicester and completed his postgraduate medical training in the Merseyside area, including time as a registrar at Claughton. He worked abroad for the charity Médecins Sans Frontières before returning to Paxton Medical Group. He is a GP trainer and medical lead for the travel clinic. His interests include tropical medicine and elderly care. Outside the practice he writes medico-legal reports for victims of torture as an expert witness, and is a keen cyclist.

Dr Quinn qualified from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 2011 and initially worked within hospital medicine before completing her GP training on the Wirral and joining Paxton Medical Group in 2020. Her special interest is in Cardiology. In her spare time she enjoys walking, football and tennis.

Dr Jenkins qualified from Liverpool University in 2004 and has worked as a GP since 2009. Her specialist interests include child health surveillance, women's health and education. Her interests in women's health include contraceptive services, fitting intrauterine devices and contraceptive implants and the menopause. Dr Jenkins also teaches at the University of Liverpool and has a keen interest in GP training.

Nurse Manager

Krystal qualified as a Registered Adult Nurse in 2004 at the University of Chester. Krystal served in the Royal Air Force (Princess Mary’s Royal Air Force Nursing Service). She joined Paxton in 2012 as a Practice Nurse and now leads the nursing team. Krystal’s specialist interests include Diabetes, Respiratory disease management, and Travel.

I qualified as a registered General Nurse in 1986 and have worked within the Practice since 1992. My special interests are in Diabetes, Respiratory Health including Asthma and COPD, Cardiovascular disease and lately Allergy.

Qualified 2003: DiP HE Nursing Born 1978, trained at Liverpool John Moores university. Previously worked at Liverpool women’s hospital and Wirral community Trust. Joined the practice in 2018.

Qualified Nurse since 1980 - Rose has a special interest in Diabetes and Chronic Disease management, She started working at Claughton 2019 as a Practice Nurse and Research Nurse: Hobbies include, Gardening, Travel and likes to do voluntary work, Rose supports Childflight charity as a fundraiser and a Nurse volunteer taking sick children and their families to Florida. In her Spare time she enjoys working with the Homeless people of Birkenhead at Wirral ARK

SUSANA SIMOES

Practice Nurse

I started my nursing path in 2003, throughout this time I have gained extra qualifications and attended courses with the aim of providing the best possible care for my patients. My special interests are Respiratory and Diabetes. Developing and improving care is always in my thoughts and I have recently started a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice with the aim to champion the management of chronic diseases in primary care by implementing innovative care plans. Outside work I keep busy playing squash and really enjoy cooking.

I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 2002 at the University of Chester. I previously worked at Wirral University Teaching Hospital Trust and specialised as an Orthopaedic Surgical Nurse . I have worked as a Practice Nurse at Townfield Health Centre Since 2019. I take a special interest in Learning Disabilities, Immunisations and Women’s Health. Outside work I have a busy family life and my hobbies include gardening and Art & Design which is a subject that I have gained a Ba (Hons) degree.

Senior HCA with a wealth of experience in General Practice, as well as hospital and community settings. I joined Fender Way in 2009. I undertake a variety of treatment room duties and I have a special interest in wound management and dressings. I am married with two children who do a great job of keeping me on my toes away from work!

Jenny joined Claughton Medical Centre in 2019 and gained a diploma in Health and Social Care in 2020. Has experience in both hospital and GP surgery settings,. Jenny is married with 3 children.

Practice Operations Manager

I started at Claughton Medical Centre in 1997 where I managed the North Clinic. I was involved in the transition process which resulted in the creation of the Paxton Building and am presently Practice Operations Manager. My current responsibilities include: co-ordinating all of the service functions within the practice, establishing links between the PCT and local community and I am first point of call for an enthusiastic team of District Nurses. I also help organise training programmes including those for the University of Liverpool medical students.

I joined Claughton Medical Centre in 1994. My job role as Medicines Manager encompasses all aspects of prescribing.

LYNDSAY MAGUIRE

Reception Manager

I have worked at Claughton since January 2004. I began as a part-time receptionist and have through the years progressed to full time role Reception Manager and Admin Assistant. I work to ensure the smooth running of reception activities. I am also responsible for recalling patients for Cervical Screenings, amongst other administrative roles.

Office Manager - Fender Way Health Centre

I have worked for Paxton Medical group for 9 and a half years. i started as an office junior and worked my way up to Administrative Team Leader in Claughton Medical Centre. In February 2017 I moved to Fender Way as the Office Manager. My job role includes all aspects of administration work, reception duties, secreterial work, handling solicitors and insurance claim, running the safeguarding database and attending meetings.

JANE ROTHWELL

Office Manager - Townfield Health Centre

I started at Townfield Health Centre earlier this year (2023) as Office Manager following the Merger with Paxton Medical Group. I come with 21 years of experience at another practice on the Wirral. My main duties include the smooth running of the practice, which include the reception team, administration team, as well as ensuring the staff are kept up to date with any changes to NHS guidelines. Our main objective at Townfield is to ensure that all patients needs are met in a timely manner.

I joined Claughton Medical Centre in 2015 and immediately started work on the merge between Claughton Medical Centre & Fender Way Health Centre to create Paxton Medical Group. I oversee all aspects of IT within the practice. I also assist the practice manager and admin team with any other duties that are required.

I have worked at Claughton Medical Centre for 21 years. I joined the Practice in September 1990 and started work in the original surgery building 2 days after it was completed and opened. I was the 1st YTS trainee to be employed at the Practice. I have progressed over the years through the Practice undertaking many different roles including Office Junior, Receptionist, Secretary, Fund Holding Assistant, Assistant Practice Manager and currently Finance Assistant. My main job role is to deal with all aspects of finance.

I have been employed as a receptionist at Claughton Medical Centre since 2008. My main duties include dealing with patient's queries and concerns at front desk. Other duties include answering the telephone, taking and booking appointments and filing. I also telephone patients regarding follow ups from clinical letters, including arranging appointments or further bloods for the patient.

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
